SBS Modified Bitumen Roofing Systems

SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) modified products provide enhanced performance characteristics to traditional asphalt. When SBS is added to unblown (unoxidized) asphalt it adds rubber characteristics. Couple this with reinforcements, such as polyester (superior elongation abilities) or fiber glass (high tensile strength) and they create high-performance roof membranes. The result is a BUR system with significantly enhanced performance capabilities.

CertainTeed offers a wide range of base and cap options that include fire rated and energy efficiency (in white or with reflective CoolStar granules.)
